Frankfurt, November 30th, 2022: Matthias Schneider, 50, is strengthening Lupus alpha’s sales capabilities. The seasoned sales expert is joining the Frankfurt-based asset manager’s wholesale team, where he will be responsible for the North region and will drive sales of Lupus alpha mutual funds for asset managers, family offices, banks, savings banks and major distributors of financial products.
The new Senior Relationship Manager brings more than 15 years of experience in supporting wholesale investors, distributors of financial products and institutional investors. His career to date includes roles with investment firm DJE Kapital AG, specialist provider KanAM Grund KGV and in the cooperative banking sector. “With his many years of sales experience across a wide range of client segments and his broad network, Matthias Schneider is the ideal addition to our wholesale team,” said Oliver Böttger, Partner and Head of Wholesale at Lupus alpha. Matthias Schneider will be responsible for the North region, while his colleague Saskia Bernhardt oversees the South region.
As a specialist provider, Lupus alpha benefits from growing demand among institutional investors for effective diversification, which means the need for specialised equity and liquid alternatives investment strategies is as high as ever. The new addition to the wholesale team means Laurin Regel, who was previously responsible for wholesale sales in northern Germany, will be moving to support institutional investors. “These staffing changes enable us to enhance our capabilities and further expand our presence in the institutional segment as well as with wholesale investors,” explained Markus Zuber, Partner and head of the ten-strong sales team at Lupus alpha.
Since 2016, Lupus alpha has steadily established and expanded the wholesale and mutual funds segment as an important second pillar alongside the institutional business. The Frankfurt-based asset manager currently manages around EUR 2.3 billion in assets in its mutual funds. Across all of its mandates, Lupus alpha is responsible for assets totalling EUR 13.5 billion.
